Hoarding and Me

I've got a real tendancy to accumulate things. My family says that my mess is like a liquid, it fills any container it's given. As I got more into clothes, and especially secondhand, my closet began to overflow as rags and garms took over my room.  In an effort to save myself and my space, I looked to other ways to accumulate things. To my surprise, collecting digital things scratched my "stuff" itch. Pinterest was my first love, scrolling for hours and saving hundreds, but after a while i would see the same things and it felt like I was going in circles.

I got into poster design, specifically rave flyers and old psychedelic lithographs, and then I found my second love, The Rave Preservation Project (link at the end). It's a seemingly endless treasure trove of community-uploaded and sourced flyers from all over the world. At a few thousand images, it kept me busy for a while. I saw lots of things that I had seen on Pinterest, likely ripped secondhand and reuploaded there, but I was at the source. I tabbed my favorites and compiled a document with all of them, around 550 flyers and designs.

Now time for my little lesson, always go to the source. Many if not most pinterest pins have source links attached to them, usually with a lot more like it, so start clicking on them. Its a great way to expand your horizons and get a footing into navigating the vast internet we have. Trust, you'll find a treasure trove just like I have at some point, and youll have yourself to thank for it, and maybe you'll think of this post. For every honey pot you find, theres 10 more waiting. BUT DONT GET CAUGHT UP, you can scroll for hours, collect thousands, but real progress comes when you do something with it.
